Our fall meeting took place on August 26th-27th at Case Western University, with 40 attendees from 14 different organizations! We had an excellent Fireside Chat led by Dr. Benjamin Messmore from Avient Corporation. Dr. Wessmore discussed Avient’s work with new polymer and composite formulations to enhance recycled content, phase out PFAS, and reduce carbon footprint for various products in packaging, healthcare, automotive, and defense industries. We also held a poster competition, with Prateek Dwivedi winning for “Non-Invasive Detection of Defects During Coatings Manufacturing,” and voted on new/continuing project proposals. We’re ecstatic to welcome PPG, Covestro, and Westinghouse to the Center along with their project interests. Thank you to everyone who attended and we look forward to seeing you in the spring!
