Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence Webinar

Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) started a new National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) named the Center on Materials Data Science for Reliability and Degradation (MDS-Rely) about a year ago. The primary goal of MDS-Rely is Materials Data Science and the application of data science-informed research to better understand the reliability and lifetime performance of essential materials, products, and devices. This IUCRC builds on established centers at both locations focusing on polymers, metals, energy materials, advanced and additive manufacturing, and in data science and analytics.
This webinar introduces participants to the MDS-Rely Center and benefits for potential members. This includes education and training opportunities, access to professors and students, direction of academic research impact, software access, access to research facilities and results, and various networking opportunities. The center currently consists of seven members and includes biannual meetings, biweekly project meetings, monthly technical seminars, monthly newsletters, and members portal. More information may be found here. A followup Idea Exchange event will take place on July 21st with opportunities to meet and discuss research interests with Pitt and Case professors.
